Xylotheque: Essays by BMR Contributor Yelizaveta P. Renfro

Yelizaveta Renfro’s essay, “Lithodendron,” was published in BMR No. 25. We are thrilled to announce that her book of essays, Xylotheque, which includes “Lithodendron,” will be out next month from UNM Press and is currently out on Kindle and Nook. We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy!

Of the book our very own faculty adviser, Justin St. Germain, who reviewed it for UNM Press says, “In these profound and moving essays, Yelizaveta Renfro applies a scientist’s eye for detail and a reporter’s investigative prowess to the essential questions of our nature, human and otherwise. Her personal and botanical inquiries into the themes of growth, death, and time evoke Annie Dillard and Edward Abbey.”

Yelizaveta P. Renfro is also the author of the award-winning book of linked short stories A Catalogue of Everything in the World. She lives in Connecticut.
